Frequently Asked Questions
All 10 subtests: General Science (GS), Arithmetic Reasoning (AR), Word Knowledge (WK), Paragraph Comprehension (PC), Mathematics Knowledge (MK), Electronics Information (EI), Auto & Shop Information (AI), Science & Mechanical Comprehension (SI/MC), Mechanical Comprehension (MC), and Assembling Objects (AO). Word Knowledge is free; all 10 unlock with the one-time $4.99 purchase.
Tap "Unlock All Subtests" anywhere inside the app to purchase for $4.99 (one-time, no subscription). To restore a previous purchase on a new device, tap "Restore Purchase" on the same screen — it uses your Apple ID to verify the transaction at no charge.
The app uses the SM-2 algorithm. After answering a question in Flashcard Mode or Smart Review, you rate your confidence: Again, Hard, Good, or Easy. SM-2 calculates the ideal next review interval for each card based on that rating and your history. Cards you find easy appear less frequently; cards you struggle with come back sooner. Over time this minimizes total study time while maximizing retention.
The AFQT is derived from four subtests: Word Knowledge (WK), Paragraph Comprehension (PC), Arithmetic Reasoning (AR), and Mathematics Knowledge (MK). The app tracks your rolling accuracy on those four subtests across all sessions and uses a weighted formula to produce an estimated AFQT percentile. It is an estimate, not an official score — actual AFQT percentiles are determined by the official normed test.
Minimum qualifying AFQT percentiles (as of current requirements): Army 31, Navy 35, Marine Corps 32, Air Force 36, Coast Guard 40, Space Force 36. These are the minimum thresholds — higher scores expand your job options significantly. The branch qualification grid in the app updates in real time as your estimated AFQT changes.
Enter (or let the app use) your current estimated subtest scores. The calculator applies each military branch's composite line-score formulas (GT, ST, CO, CL, EL, MM, OF, SC, etc.) to your scores and displays which MOS/ratings/AFSCs you currently qualify for. Jobs are marked with a checkmark if your scores meet the threshold, or grayed out if not. Tap any job to see which subtests matter most and which line score drives eligibility.
A streak freeze protects your study streak for one missed day — it auto-activates when you miss the Daily Challenge. You earn freeze tokens by hitting streak milestones (e.g. 7-day, 30-day, 60-day streaks). You can bank up to 3 freeze tokens at a time. Once used, you'll need to hit another milestone to earn another.
Yes — the app is 100% offline. All 500+ questions, your progress data, and every feature work entirely on your device with no internet connection. There is no account, no login, and no email required. Just download and study.
If iCloud Drive is enabled on your device, the app automatically saves your progress — SRS data, accuracy history, bookmarks, wrong answer bank, streak — to your personal iCloud Drive. This is your data, stored in your iCloud account, not our servers. On a new device, sign in with the same Apple ID and your data restores automatically.
Two widgets are included. The Daily Vocabulary widget (medium size) displays one Word Knowledge vocabulary word per day — with definition, usage, and memory tip — without opening the app. The Study Streak widget (small size) shows your current streak count and whether you've completed today's Daily Challenge.
